Happy with the skillet! I never had a problem with the base being attached with my last skillet. But after 30 years it was time to put the old one to rest and a new one join the family! Happy with the results! The base to me is kinda annoying, but the reviews were great on the actual heating part of the skillet, which was what I was looking for. I have to agree, I’m impress with the durability and easy clean up. The lid does have a tendency to get really hot, but I allow it to cool from time time before returning it to the skillet.Food browns and cooks evenly without burning. It heats up nicely. I use this skillet ? over my cooktop. Much easier to clean up! Would definitely recommend!Unit came packaged for protection and arrived on time. I had a 12 inch skillet and a spot in the cupboard for it. This unit fits in the same spot because it folds away. The bottom of the skillet is flat, so all my oil or butter does NOT drift to the center making it possible to fry items in butter without scorching. The temperature seems to hold nicely with an approximate 10 degree drop before it starts to reheat. This is much better than the last skillet (different maker) that would drop 40 degrees. I like that I can disassemble it and clean all the components around the handle and base. I followed the manufacturers instructions and place a piece of foil underneath (not under the legs) and have had no trouble with it overheating my counters. I also am using their suggestion and only cooking bacon at 300 and eggs at 250. This has kept the unit from getting too hot and turning the inside brown. I have used it 10 times so far. I only use plastic or silicone utensils. I do not scrape them along the bottom either. I only hand wash with a dish rag and do not submerge the unit in the water. I also make sure that while it is warm I use a paper towel to mop up anything in the skillet before I wash it. I hope this helps.I use this pan more than my stovetop now! It’s great for one dish meal prep. It is super easy to clean. It’s a little hard to get used to the temperature setting but once you learn how things cook in it you’ll use it more than your stove! Busy mom approved.Love it. Does not heat up the whole kitchen as the gas range does and the temp control allows you to walk away from the kitchen while waiting for that hungry big guy to finally show up from work. Clean-up is easy.I’m favorite skillet the only one I use for everyday cooking easy to clean I love the part comes off the base to clean I have wore out 5 of these now this is my 6th one don’t use my stove anymore and when my husband use to cook his breakfast all he had to do was unplug it safer over the range he would leave it on I just purchased another I think they last me about a yearI used this almost daily for about 3 months as my husband and I didn't have a stove. This thing works beautifully, honestly I'm tempted to use this instead of the stove we have now since we moved. The only thing is when cooking liquids I can clearly see where the heating elements are under because of where the boiling is happening. It doesn't seem to effect the actual cooking process though. It cleans easily, just with wiping it down with a wet rag. Even when we let a sticky sauce go all we had to do was pour in some warm/hot water, cover and wait a few minutes and it was good to go.I do wish the spout was on the right side of the pan instead of the left because I cook right handed and routinely leave heat safe utensils there instead of making a mess on my counter. As for size it is pretty large. For reference, I can probably fit 4-5 dollar bags of California blend veggies in there with no problem.Much better than the first skillet i had of a different brand.Would definitely buy again. We used it only once. I made Okonomiyaki which is Japanese meal. It did not stick at all. Visible inside. Easy to wash. This is a great skillet. I bought one back around 2014, and used it until March 2022, at which time I left it at my son's house so I wouldn't have to bring it along when I visit (yes, I travel with this skillet). So it will still be used, but not very often. I've used it an ton over these 7 years, so it wasn't as non-stick anymore. More recently I started wiping it with grapeseed oil before use, and that has helped significantly. I don't cook with the skillet on the highest heat--have never needed anything over 350. Many things cook just fine at 250. Maybe that's why it's lasted so long. I also always hand wash, and never use spray cooking oils like Pam, which are hard on nonstick coatings. So now I've gotten my replacement. The nonstick coating on this one seems slicker. Maybe they improved it. It works quite well, either way. BTW, I bought this "used," which stated in the description that the box would be damaged. It really wasn't, and the skillet was brand new, didn't look like it had ever been out of the box. Also bought the Presto Slimline skillet (same way, "used," but this one did have a damaged box). I like to have two skillets, and wanted to try a different model. The Slimline isn't as deep as the foldable one. Also, the nonstick coating is more typical, same as the coating on my original foldable. If I could only have one, I'd go for the foldable model, because I really like the depth. There are times when I fill it to the top. It also has that handy pour spout, which doubles as a spoon rest slot.BTW, it heats up quickly, which is a big reason why I use this over the stove, in addition to the size. I don't use the fold-up feature. If you're really pressed for space, that might be helpful. But highly recommended. Glad they're still making it after all these years!Fry me to the moon,Lets me stir fry like a star,Lets me see what life is like with,Bare countertops and bars.In other words, folds flat man,If only the stand, did not scratch the pan.can not be used in EU, “wrong” mains connectorI asked for an electric frypan for Christmas. We always had one at home and it was so versatile, my mother used it all the time.My husband went through the reviews on Amazon and chose this one. Great choice. It is large and the heat control is just right. This replaces our electric pancake grill (was pretty old with cold spots) and our George Forman Grill. Plus we are using our wok less because this has high sides.Unlike my mother’s, this is rectangular, and it is perfect for making pancakes, French toast, etc.I recommend it. Also the stand folds down so it fits in the cupboard easily. When I got to electric frying pan. I was worried on some reviews it says you could not turn it low enough to keep warm. Well before you get to the warm setting. there's a whole lot in between settings for temperature keep warm works perfectly. I put Cold water more than halfway up the pan to test this. Turn it way before the warm. And you start seeing bubbles of when actually the heat starts to turn on. Hope that helps. Then I turned it right up. It boil the water. Fantastic. Easy to bring to the sink and clean very light. That's why I gave it five stars.Love this electric frying pan! I was hesitant after all the negative reviews!!!! It’s easy to clean, and it gets really hot and heats evenly!!! Love using it as a serving dish. To address the one persons negative review on scratching the Teflon....The instructions do say when storing to put something in between the lid and the frame to protect the the cooking surface.
